Guangdong photovoltaic industry and enterprise status of the survey report


   After this newspaper reported the general situation of Guangdong photovoltaic industry in May, many readers have not yet finished calling to inquire about the more specific situation of Guangdong photovoltaic industry. In order to obtain a more in-depth and comprehensive status of Guangdong photovoltaic industry, the author visited the major photovoltaic prefecture-level cities in Guangdong to explore Guangdong photovoltaic industry. The road map, hoping to provide a useful guide for enterprises looking for photovoltaic cooperation in Guangdong!

The first stop---Shenzhen

   Among the prefecture-level cities in Guangdong, Shenzhen bears the brunt. It is a city with the most photovoltaic enterprises, the most closely distributed industrial clusters and the best effect. In 2009, Shenzhen’s photovoltaic industry achieved an output value of about 4.5 billion (including photovoltaic related supporting enterprises), and its battery production capacity reached 200MW. , the output exceeds 50MW, the module production capacity exceeds 500MW, and the output exceeds 250MW. For this reason, the author came to Shenzhen as the first stop.

   As early as the beginning of the 21st century, Shenzhen, as the window of the south wind of China, had already started to be involved in the solar photovoltaic industry. The photovoltaic industry chain products based on battery components were far ahead in China at that time.

   But early rise does not mean rapid development. Shenzhen PV is fulfilling a Chinese saying: "Wake up early, catch up late." Due to constraints such as tight land use, unclear government support policies, and lack of strong technical research support, Shenzhen's photovoltaic industry has fallen behind significantly. Relying on the advantages of its early rise and development, the current development of Shenzhen's photovoltaic industry presents three major characteristics:

1. Lack of leading, small-scale and many enterprise cluster layout

   Among the districts in Shenzhen, Bao'an District has about 70 photovoltaic companies, followed by about 30 in Nanshan District, about 20 in Futian District and Longgang District, and about 10 in Luohu District and Yantian District; these enterprises are distributed In the design and installation of polycrystalline silicon, monocrystalline silicon, amorphous silicon, solar glass, solar appliances, solar glass curtain walls, etc., the products basically cover all areas of the industrial chain.

   In terms of quantity, Shenzhen, which is as big as a palm, has more than 100 photovoltaic companies, which is not a small number; in terms of scale, except for the solar glass industry and photovoltaic design, which are domestically leading, other enterprises are mostly concentrated in downstream packaging and application side. Although there are many enterprises distributed in the entire industrial chain, there is a lack of leading enterprises with considerable scale and strength in all links. (as in Table 1).

2. Form a relatively complete industrial chain and strong industrial supporting capabilities, but lack technical strength

   Because of the above-mentioned enterprise clusters in the first point, many enterprises are distributed in various links of the photovoltaic industry chain, and have formed a relatively complete industrial chain, showing Shenzhen's strong industrial supporting foundation and capabilities.

   There are many and small photovoltaic enterprises in Shenzhen. One of the key reasons is that most enterprises are private in nature. Enterprises have developed spontaneously driven by market demand. They have strong market development capabilities but relatively weak technical strength. (as in Table 2)

3. The industrial characteristics of the application field are obvious, and the policy needs to be clarified

   Focusing on domestic and foreign market demands, enterprises in Shenzhen seize the characteristics and opportunities of fast market development, large space, small investment, and relatively low technical threshold, and take the lead in making breakthroughs in solar toys, solar curtain walls, glass, etc., and their technical level is in the leading position in China. , with obvious characteristics and advantages, it has become the largest solar energy application industrial base in China.  

   It is worth mentioning that although Shenzhen currently has various ambiguities and shortcomings in terms of policies, Shenzhen's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" has come out: 3 million square meters of building area solar energy application, 2 million square meters of solar thermal utilization, 100 million square meters of photovoltaic applications. The new energy revitalization plan introduced before has also taken some action, which is a signal to speed up the pace.

At that time, among the many photovoltaic star industrial parks across the country, Shunde District, a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province in South China, was particularly inconspicuous and unassuming, but Shunde Su Weibo, the deputy head of the district, raised his arms after taking the stage, and called out Shunde's slogan "Sunshine City, Happy Home", and then introduced the conditions, plans, goals, and measures for the development of the solar energy industry in Shunde. The posture was obviously well-prepared. Come!

   As early as August 2009, the Shunde District Government issued the "Interim Measures for Promoting the Development of Solar Photovoltaic Industry in Shunde District", hoping to build the photovoltaic industry into another pillar industry in Shunde, and formulated the "30,000 Photovoltaic Roofs Plan" and organized photovoltaic development Forum, the establishment of photovoltaic development awards, the creation of "Shunde 100 billion photovoltaic industrial park" and the establishment of special funds of 200 million yuan for support, etc.

Shunde has more than 50 enterprises in the electrical and power integrated components and power transmission and distribution industries, including transformer manufacturers led by Shunte Electric and Hengdao; Manufacturers of solar batteries, and complete manufacturers of some solar water heater accessories.    Among the photovoltaic enterprises in Zhuhai, Singyes Solar has attracted the most attention. This is a good development direction for Zhuhai, which strives to speed up the development of new energy and promote the comprehensive utilization of energy.

   Although there are companies like Singyes Solar who have jumped out, Zhuhai’s photovoltaic industry is not well-developed in general. The photovoltaic activity that is known to the industry is the solar photovoltaic exhibition park of China 22nd Metallurgical Group in the Hengqin Island Free Trade Zone in Zhuhai.    The more well-known photovoltaic activities in the industry in Guangzhou are the 1.64 billion CIGS thin-film solar module project invested and settled in Baiyun District by Huamao Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the platform photovoltaic canopy project (BIPV) on the south side of Guangdong South Railway Station, and the pilot solar energy project in Guangzhou University City. power generation projects, etc. Guangzhou should be on par with developed cities, such as its "neighbor" Hong Kong, which has two megawatts in total.

   In addition to the above-mentioned major cities, other cities in Guangdong Province also have sporadically developed photovoltaic industries, but they are relatively weak. .

 

Conclusion---With the backing of "Sino-Singapore Knowledge City", the stamina of Guangdong PV should not be underestimated

   Generally speaking, Guangdong PV is lagging behind other domestic PV development provinces, but Guangdong has advantages. As a frontier of reform and opening up, it upholds the function of "external window", where the development of component companies and application products has formed a large scale And it has advantages, because it wants to take the lead in application and Suntech takes the lead in establishing Shenzhen Suntech in Shenzhen, which will have the largest market. There is a lot of room for photovoltaic development in Guangdong, such as BIPV. The use of solar photovoltaic technology to build several iconic solar buildings or apply it to some landmark buildings is a sustainable and operable development method that is both ecological, environmentally friendly and low-carbon. .

On the afternoon of June 30, 2010, the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, a strategic symbolic project of cooperation between Guangdong and Singapore, held a groundbreaking ceremony in Luogang District, Guangzhou. The "Sino-Singapore Knowledge City" project is the third large-scale project between Singapore and China after Suzhou Industrial Park and Tianjin Eco-city. At present, Sino-Singapore Knowledge City provides superior land resources, good geographical location, excellent policies, and more high-end industrial positioning. Combining international development trends and closely following the national development strategy, it is believed that Knowledge City will become the foundation for realizing the country's emerging strategic industries. An important carrier, and all of these seem to be tailor-made for Guangdong's new energy, especially the photovoltaic industry.
